The Appartamento TCA was designed by Valerio Cometti, whose brief was to preserve the original Appartamento’s distinctive aesthetic, whilst also seeking to evolve the design for today’s barista.
A smoother contour and sensual feel have been brought to the almost “Bauhaus” architecture of the original machine which increases the desire to touch and interact with the “new” AppartamentoTCA.
Aesthetically the new Appartamento has been softened to enhance the relationship between the machine and the barista, through the introduction of two new design elements: new housing with smoother rounded sides and new accentuated side holes.
A new design for the “engine” of Appartamento: the brewing group. A dynamic, purposeful shape, with a distinctive look that sets it apart from imitators, allowing the Appartamento TCA to stand out in this category of premium domestic machines.
Not only aesthetical changes have been made to the Appartamento TCA: Thanks to the new electronics developed by Rocket, the Appartamento TCA allows the user to adjust and manage new machine functions:
The new control board allows for 4 different temperature presets to be selected as well as offering the possibility to select an energy saving mode which puts the machine in stand-by after 30 minutes of non-usage.
In addition, boiler insulation has been improved which reduces overall energy consumption by 15%.
A new ergonomic portafilter handle as well as a wider drip tray complement the vast list of upgrades from the previous Appartamento.
